Ahmed Al-Saadoun's equation

essay image

First of all, I have full respect and appreciation for the person of Bou Abdelaziz and his political history, but since he announced his candidacy for Parliament and for its presidency, he is thus becoming a public figure who can be praised or criticized in a way that does not affect morals and the law. In the beginning, dear Bouabdelaziz, you were one of the first to raise the banner of boycotting the (One-Vote) elections, and you were one of the drivers of what was called "the series of the country’s Dignity and Taking to the Street." Perhaps those behind your stances and speeches misunderstood them, so they violated the law and severe sentences were issued against them. All of this has not affected how much we respect you, but when you run for elections according to the (one-vote) system, allow me to say: "It is a big deal." I do not know how you will justify it to people. It was you who said and stated in more than one media channel that you rejected the (one-vote) election, warning them of it in the strongest terms. Dear readers, you can return to the newspaper archives and YouTube to see, hear, and read, just as a refreshment of memory. Well now, after you changed your mind, don't you see that Kuwaiti society has the right to know why you changed your mind? What happens? We may be persuaded! But you did not mention the reason for changing your point of view, not even in one tweet, but just a fragment of words, and whoever the opponents of one vote said the same when he decided to change his principle. If you have a project to change the electoral system, districts, or voting mechanism and you want to change it from within the council, we know that with all transparency! Another matter to you, Bou Abdelaziz, is that you should not depend entirely on those around you, as some of them are patriotic with principles, and some of them are seeking their benefits, and others of this and that. In other words, during the elections for the presidency of the National Assembly, do not be surprised by the loss, for some of these people may seem loyal to you, but in reality, it may not differ much from the loyalty of some of the people of Kufa to Hussein (peace be upon him) (with the difference in analogy, of course). Al-Farazdaq described: "As for the hearts, they are with you; and as for the swords, they are with the Umayyads." I have a question: if we assume that you lost the race for head of the National Assembly election, what would you do? Will you accept the presidency of the other one and will you cooperate with him? For the record, this time the government is not weak or insignificant to mess with, as it will not interfere in the election of the presidency of the National Assembly or in the distribution of committees. We add to that the element of age, and I pray for you from the heart for long life and good health, but as it is said, "age governs." Dear Bou Abdelaziz, we, as citizens in general and voters of the third district in particular, are interested in knowing your answer to these questions. In addition to the above, we want to know clearly and with all transparency your view about forgery and dual citizenship, and we also want to talk about the Bidoon file and how you will manage it in the National Assembly. We also want to know your opinion on the naturalization of children of Kuwaiti women and on the state's imposition of taxes in its various forms, because this issue is inevitably coming. Are you for or against taxation or for imposing it under conditions? There are laws and legislation required by the state and may not be populist. What will you say to those who voted for you in the elections for the presidency of the Council? Do not forget to answer us regarding the issue of amnesty for the rest of those convicted in cases of opinion, like those who were pardoned. We also want to know your opinion regarding raising the ceiling of freedom, whether opinion freedom or personal freedom. Bou Abdelaziz, we do not present such questions to others, because it is normal for some of them to give you suggestions and answers, and then, after being inside the National Assembly, they change their opinions. As for you, you are not of this type. Your personality and history do not allow you to do so. The next stage is pivotal, and the political leadership has played its role as promised, it is our role now as citizens to make a viable choice. I hope in the coming days to hear what pleases us from you. We want and look forward to a clear, frank, and transparent electoral program that answers all these questions, to be an example to follow, and then we let the voter choose whom they want. You are a difficult and important parliamentary equation with a proud history, so do not let it be lost easily.

Stay safe.
