Ramadan truce

A friend of mine asked me, "What do you think of the decree of the Constitutional Court? What do you think of those who left the National Assembly and returned to it? The country is rife with rumors; everyone talks past each other and gives random opinions and fatwas according to what they think, and the government is silent. I replied, let us be patient a little and contemplate the situation a lot, for the rules of the game have changed dramatically. Someone left, and someone returned. Some of those who like to be called free, heroes, and other revolutionary titles gathered and said that we do not authenticate this National Assembly and it must be dissolved.
In order to adjust the procedures, the Electoral Commission must be approved before the dissolution so that the mistake will not be repeated. Even though this law has been presented to the National Assembly, which won the 2022 elections, since its early days, these characters have escalated with the government with requests that should have been done with ease but did not happen, and some of them began to present projects and suggestions, such as witchcraft, khula', and closing markets at Friday prayers. Some of them only cared about transferring and deputizing for their families and relatives, so that was their priority, as they were, as the Egyptian proverb says, "they cannot beat the horse, so they beat the saddle" or "the strong win and the weak lose."
In their meeting, they did not expect Bu Ali’s reaction, and it seems that they forgot that he is a professional politician. With two summarized words, he scored four goals, stating that he respects any decision taken, that he respects the rulings of the judiciary, called for new elections, and approved the decision of the other team to approve the electoral commission law in order to immunize the upcoming elections from any flaws. Frankly, although I have no direct relationship with Mr. Marzouq Al-Ghanim and I disagree with him on many issues, his style of dealing, management of the scene, and sophistication in rhetoric always make him superior to others.
Well, what is the problem now? Why are some of them angry? Why do unconstitutional and illogical demands rise? Why do we hear those words and the harsh rhetoric? Do you all want the National Assembly to be dissolved? The only way to solve it is through constitutional tools and through legislation that does not come to light except through the parliament, and as Bu Ali told you, cooperate and everything will be settled, or wait for the formation of the government and then submit interrogations to the ministers and their president and complete the shouting and disrupting the interests of the people, until the government reaches a dead end, after which a request for non-cooperation is raised to His Highness the Emir to take whatever he deems appropriate. There is a third solution: you all should present a collective resignation and save us.
Since everyone agrees to dissolve the parliament and return to elections, I wish the many sane and patriotic members of the opposition group would show wisdom, patience, sophistication in their rhetorical speech, respect for the rulings of the judiciary, and cooperation with the president and others, as well as with the new government. So let us hold one meeting with cooperation, and this fuss will end. After that, the government can carry out its missions and actions because all Kuwaiti people are tired as they suffer from bad streets, a low level of education, and poor health services. In addition, the people of Kuwait, "may Allah help them," suffer from high prices and global financial crises, and may Allah protect Kuwait and its investments from their repercussions. In addition to the political changes around us, a lot of confusion is going on. All of this we suffer from, and you say, "Leave so-and-so and stay, O so-and-so".
Brothers, politics needs wisdom before shrewdness, flexibility before hardship, and kind words before obscenities. All of you are sons of this country through family and friends, and you all feel afraid of Allah and love your country. This is a noble and blessed month. Solve your problems amicably between each other, or at least agree on a truce until after Ramadan, and after that we will discuss the matter. As that the first loser is Kuwait, you, they, us, our children, and your children, so let your fear of Allah's judgment lead your actions in this country.
I received a call, as I do every Ramadan, from the pastor of the Egyptian Coptic Church in Kuwait, Archpriest Bishop Bishoy, congratulating me on the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan and inviting me to a Ramadan ghabka. This dear friend is one of the kind and friendly personalities, and he carries a lot of love and affection for Kuwait and its people, so thank you very much for the congratulations, and thanks go out to all our Christian brothers, who congratulated us by phone or through messages, and we pray to Allah to perpetuate the cordiality and love.
stay safe.
